"Unity"
This piece travelled from Egypt, in the stories of a dear friend, and in a basket of dessert rock, white as can be.
Like the poem, "Ode on a Grecian Urn" by John Keats this piece is a time capsule of beauty, of divinity, and of unity.
The Ancient Egyptians had a complex culture, especially regarding death and the ceremonial attributes that surrounded it, particularly among royalty. The marking in the lower left corner is red wine, which would have been buried in clay pots with the Pharohs, carrying substance with them into the afterlife. Overlayed is that desert rock imitating a wine label in hieroglyphs.
